Seborrhea, or dandruff generally occurs due to a naturally-occurring yeast that lives on the body. Seborrhea is also known as a cradle cap in children. Seborrheic dermatitis is characterized by inflammation, reddening, and scaling of the affected skin and is very common. Treatment involves topical ant-inflammatory lotions and pH-correcting shampoos.
