Keloids are scars that outgrow their boundaries. The affected regions are often the earlobes, jawline, chest, shoulders and upper back. Surgery or injury often precede scar formation. Keloids can arise spontaneously in the case of folliculitis or acne. This is more often found in persons with darker skin type. Treatment include intralesional kenalog (injection of cortisone) and liquid nitrogen.
